It wasn’t too long ago I wrote about being unsure of the future of this blog. And while I still am, I would like to do a little catch up on my last few weeks in pictures. For ease of layout, these will be 3 big collages. I’ve also been thinking a lot about whether or not this blog should stay as it has been. In the past I have run Tuesday Tips and Things I Love Thursday as well as opinion pieces. Well, all my opinions are residing over on KiKi & Tea now, so perhaps this should just be stories about my life…

This week is all out of whack as I had off Thursday and Friday, then when I tried to upload my week in pics yesterday it wouldn’t work. So I’m a day late, but here it is!

This week I wrote about:

And on to the week in pics…

Lionel caught a lizard, so we got him a name tag and tried to find a bell. Really hard to find a bell that isn't coloured or shaped like some kind of cartoon character. Then I found this collar, with a bell, for $4. Just cut the bell off it!

Today’s Tip: Organise your house, and organise your mind.

It’s really hard to think clearly when you’re living in clutter. At least I find it is. For me, when there’s crap everywhere it’s a bit like it’s actually pressing down on me, and I find it occupying space in the back of my mind I could use for other things.

A fairly ironic thought when you consider that I’m about as tidy as a bull in a china shop but it’s true, nonetheless. So last weekend when Husband & I finished putting up the shelves I started with my brother & dad previously, it was with a great sense of relief. We then set about clearing some of the boxes cluttering the garage and filling up those shelves. Just having things in a place made me feel soooo much better.

My garage "Before"... I know, scary right?

After! Doesn't it look great?

An organised house is an organised mind.

Strawberries are so cheap and so gorgeous at the moment!

This Thursday, I love… strawberries

How good are the strawberries right now?! It’s ridiculous! The other day I bought 3 punnets for $5 and they were juicy and beautiful and tasty. In fact, that’s them there ->>

I adore strawberries. I think they are my favourite fruit, although I did have a massive obsession with persimmons a while back. In high school I actually tried to start my own nickname as being Strawberry, I think a grand total of 2 people actually ended up calling me that and primarily because I was always putting on layer after layer of strawberry flavoured body shop lip balm Continue reading »

Dinner tonight

Today’s Tip: It’s OK to take time off from life, every once in a while.

Tonight we ate toast for dinner. No, I’m not sick. Yes, we do have food in the house. We just couldn’t be bothered. My day sucked, I was off my game, I made a few silly mistakes and I don’t often make mistakes at work. So when it came time to have dinner, I just couldn’t face anything more than toast.

It’s nice to be on top of things all the time but sometimes, just sometimes, you have to give yourself permission to just stop, give up, and not care for a minute. Not every meal needs to be nutritious. Not every night has to be special. Not every moment has to be full and, honestly, if you let something slide by a few times it’s highly likely nobody will even notice.

Take time off, every once in a while. It’s OK.

This week things have been looking up. Nothing particularly bad happened, no cats died and I got to spend time with my brother.

On KiKi & Tea this week I wrote about:

I put up shelves in my garage! And by *I* clearly I mean my brother did it while I tried to be helpful (and got in the way)

Today’s Tip: To increase your SEO put all your keywords in the first 50 words and last 50 words of your posts.

When you become a blogger, the term “SEO” is thrown around with abandon, with very little explanation of what it is or how you can achieve it. So today I’m bringing you a quick tip that will immediately enhance your SEO.

Going backwards for a minute: What is SEO? SEO meant search engine optimization which, in simple terms, means search engines can find you. What’s the point of SEO? Why bother writing a stack of amazing content only for no one to see it! Continue reading »

This past week started out incredibly sadly with the news my mother’s much loved cat, Kosi, passed away. He was found on Friday evening and had been missing for 5 days. I’m really hoping that will be the end of the crap things happening in my life. So, as we near the end of the another week, I’m hoping for good things on the horizon.

I’m excited today, specifically, as I’ve just an hour ago hit Publish on the first ever competition on KiKi & Tea! Celebrating our half-birthday with the chance to win a $100 Kuerida jewellery voucher.

I also wrote about how my wheels have fallen off, and I don’t think I care anymore.
