I’ll admit it – I’ve neglected you, my little blog. I’m sorry. I really am! I’ve just been so flat out with work, home and my other website, KiKi & Tea, that I’ve forgotten about you a little bit. Can we still be friends?

Lately I am loving reading blogs about other people’s lives. I love reading about opinions, and have spent many a moment reading articles about real issues, but sometimes it’s nice to switch off and admire someone else’s life for a moment. Particularly people who have really pretty, stylish, lives. With their super organised kids, their fun activities and their clean homes. At the moment I’m particularly in love with this brand new blog by my (online – although I hate making that distinction because online is just as real) friend Karen who recently lost 22kg (I know! Amazing, right?) and who has such a beautiful, happy, organised life.

One of my other favourites is Thrify Decor Chick which makes me believe I, too, could be a fantastically talented thrifty decor chick and build window seats and crap if only I applied myself… but instead I will lie on the couch with my arm trapped by a cat who is overexcited about receiving attention (even if that attention is just me moving her slightly so I can still reach my keyboard) and feel guilty that I’m not applying myself in a more meaningful way to filling my house will all the organisational tools created by Kikki.K and planning out every single detail of my day.

I have to admit, I love these blogs for the ideas they give me, but it’s more than that. I love them because it’s like looking at life porn. It’s a window into other people’s lives we didn’t used to have, a pervy little insight into what everyone else does. I love the ones where things are flawless, but I also love the ones where flaws are like the features in a fine timber table – there to be appreciated, enjoyed, and giggled at. Like Kerri Sackville (who I met twice, so we’re totally BFFs now) who writes with humour and an ability to point out the absurd in the every day. Or Hyperbole And A Half written by Allie, who I’m sure was following me around when she wrote this one on why she’ll never be an adult.

So, if I’m going to enjoy it on other people, I suppose I should post some of my own. Traditionally it would be a week in pics, but I was sick half of last week so I’m including that too. So here’s what I’ve been up to:

We realised I have all the clothes needed to dress up as Paddington Bear... Side note: My hair has grown back FAST.

I was sick, off work for 3 days, and had my first ever chicken soup (plus lots of powerade in the background there)

Bella wanted chicken soup too

Then I dropped a large chopping board on my toe. It kept bleeding through bandaids and it's still bandaged now, a week & a half later.

Back at work and glad wrapping my shoes to brave the rain

Best Friend was given these earrings, but her ears aren't pierced. SCORE!

I painted my nails and wore rings I don't wear very often

I've worn my slippers out... it's time for new ones

Got a bracelet from the Witchery White Shirt Campaign (Ovarian Cancer Research). It's a rip off Tiffany Beads if I ever saw one... I LOVE it.

Did my hair in a sock bun

Doing a spot of website work in Westfield last night... Like those people who work in Starbucks... But with better taste in coffee

So that’s my life.

T.

Do you like looking at life porn? Did you enjoy mine? What’s going on in your life?

Notes: To do a sock bun, you can find instructions here. The nail polish I’m wearing is OPI in You Don’t Know… Jacques! and Russian Navy.

Oh why thank you, Miss T!  That’s a lovely pingback you’ve granted me and I’m so new to this blogging caper that I can’t for the life of me figure out how you did it.  But you did and I’m grateful ;-)

By the way, that Paddington Bear look suits you!  Just don’t get lost at a train station, okay?
